Registration for Quilts is Closed
Drop off quilts at the Civic Center on Wednesday, May 30 from 10 am - 2 pm. No unregistered quilts will be accepted on check-in day. Quilt tags will be distributed at meetings during May or will be avaialble at the Civic Center during check-in; please attach to your quilt as directed.
Quilts, Quilts and More Quilts
There are over 400 quilts registered for the Quilt Show, including the Guild Challenge, "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend", a display of Caring Hearts and Thinking of You Quilts, Stitchers Garden Quilts in the Demo Room Exhibit, and other Special Exhibits.
The 2018 Show will feature vendors from all over the country, offering fabrics, embellishments, patterns, books and more.
Project Warmth, the charity outreach division of the quilter's guild, sells small quilted items to raise money for its work. A silent auction to benefit Hospice House of the Black Hills offers handmade little quilts and quilted objects, from true miniatures to table runners, along with other unique items.
BH Quilters Treasures offers items for sale by members and other people. Potential buyers will find a variety of items for sale, including hand-made creations as well as fabric and various quilting/sewing supplies and equipment.
The guild retains 10% of the sales (20% for non-members). There is no advance registration for Quilters Treasures. Bring items to the Civic Center on Wednesday, May 30. Fill out a separate tag for each item and set your price. List all items on the Quilters Treasures Sales Form and make a copy for yourself.
Silent Auction for Hospice of the Black Hills
The BHQG will again be supporting Hospice with a Silent Auction of Small Quilted Objects. In the last thirteen years, we have raised $31,264 for Hospice. The Silent Auction begins at the Rapid City Regional Hospital on May 30 and moves to the Civic Center for the duration of the Quilt Show. It will end on Sunday, June 3 near the end of the Quilt Show with the items going to the highest bidder.

Open Sewing for Project Warmth
Last year, we introduced an Open Sew area at the quilt show giving people a chance to sit and sew for a few minutes or a few hours. Two quilts were completed for Project Warmth, the charity outreach division of the BHQG. No experience is necessary; sewing machines, supplies, and help will be available.
Jan Sears, an AQS Certified appraiser will be available to appraise quilts during the show. Written appraisals are $45 and verbal assessments are $20. Drop-ins are welcome but you can Contact Us to make reservations.
Saturday Evening Buffet and Awards Event
After a long day at the quilt show on Saturday, June 2, a fun evening awaits at the official Cocktail Party Buffet and Awards Presentation. Head upstairs from the show to the Alpine Room. Doors open to a cash bar at 5:30 pm and the buffet begins at 6:00 pm.
Slides of all the quilts in the show will play through the evening. After we finish eating, winners in judged and viewers choice will be revealed. The winners of the challenge, the UFO contest and the early registration incentive will also be announced.The 2019 raffle quilt will be unveiled. A trunk show will be presented by Mary Lou Kerr of Valentine, NE.
The buffet will include Mustard Dill Tortellini Skewers, Fresh Cut Rainbow Fruit Skewers, Strawberry & Spinach Crostini, Grilled Peach Burrata Basil Crostini with Prosciutto & Blackberries, Roasted Tomato with Basil Pesto & Red Pepper Hummus Crostini, Cucumber & Dill Canapes, Bacon-wrapped Asparagus, Spinach & Artichoke Stuffed Mushrooms, Beef Brisket Sliders with Caramelized Onions & Horseradish Creme, New England Shrimp Rolls with Lemon Herb Mayo & Diced Avocado, Strawberry Rhubarb Crips Melt-Aways, Triple Chocolate Mousse, Iced Tea, Coffee, and Water.

Raffle Quilt and Raffle Basket
"Dazzling Daizies" the appliqued, machine quilted raffle quilt, will be raffled on Sunday, June 3, 2018 near the end of the show. You can see a picture of this quilt under Events>Raffle Quilt. There will also be a drawing for one or two raffle baskets featuring a wide assortment of fabrics, notions, and many other extras. Tickets for both can be purchased at the show.
